The Lunar Eclipse on August 28, 2007

The total lunar eclipse on August 28, 2007 began at 4:51am (EST). I woke up at 4:30am to get ready for the big event. The sky was a clear bright night. The perfect night to watch the moon. This was going to be a Total eclipse ( where the moon is totally shadowed ) the earth was moving between the sun and the moon, this is what makes the moon shadowed. My first picture was at 4:58, the 2nd at 5:09, 3rd at 5:17, 4th at 5:27, 5th at 5:38, 6th at 5:45. The moon was totally eclipsed within an hours time. IT was TOTALLY a sight to wake for !!! When you watched the moon with your naked eye, it looked a little different than in the pictures. As the moon was shadowed, ( from top to bottom ) the top part got darker but you could still see the outline of the moon that was covered. It turned a slight reddish tint. The eclipse this time was to be shadowed an orange-red-brownish color due to no or little volcanic activity ( low dust particles ) on earth. The next total lunar eclipse will be Feb 21, 2008 so don't miss it because the following one after this one will be on Dec 21, 2010. It is worth getting up for or staying up for !!!!
When the moon was half shadowed I woke Eric and Crystal up to look out the window. They thought it was neat than they went back to sleep. I woke them back up when it was totally shadowed but only Eric got up to see it. Crystal was to sleepy to see.
The east was only going to be able to see the moon become totally eclipsed than the sun would come up. If you lived in the far west, you were blessed to watch the whole eclipse from start to finish. I wish I could have seen it all but at least I got to view what I did. I THANK God for that.
I thought some might want to view some of the pictures I took with our digital camera. ENJOY !!!!

The Rehearsal

Jonathan and Leigh Ann's rehearsal went really well. Everybody had a blast. Steve Watts made up a song just for the special couple and we played it for them. It was a very funny song !! That is why Jonathan and Leigh Ann are laughing. We all loved Steve's song. THANKS STEVE !!

Doesn't Leigh Ann look so darling in all those curlers !!! Most of us had curlers in our hair on Thursday. It was kind of embarrassing when one of us had to go somewhere out in public, but we survived it. It was well worth it !!!

Jonathan's Family

I just LOVE this picture of Jon, Eric and Crystal !!! This is going up on my living room wall. See the love shining on each of their faces. Brian and I are so blessed to have three children that love each other so much. THANK YOU, God !!!

Jonathan's Baby Sissy

Now this lady holds a very special place in Jonathan's heart. He thinks the "world revolves" around a couple ladies in his life and this is one of them. Jonathan's baby sissy. He keeps ahold of this name for her, even though she no longer likes to be called this. Some day it will be a very special name to her.
Wow, Crystal, I LOVE YOUR CURLS !!! Such a beautiful lady !!!!

Jonathan's Best Man

Jonathan's best man was his brother, Eric. Eric took to this position as a body guard stance. What a HANDSOME body guard Eric makes. Grandma Jerri was able to capture him "trice" with a smile on his face. Of course, Eric was able to capture his own "smile" in the bathroom when he was interviewing himself about Jonathan getting married. I take it he was happy about it all. I think that is the biggest smile I've seen on his face. GREAT SMILE, ERIC !!!!

Leigh Ann's Surprise Quilt

Leigh Ann's mom, Tammy and Leigh Ann's grandma, Nana put this surprise quilt together for Leigh Ann. Different woman and girls who are close to Leigh Ann through her life, got to embroider a square. They could put what ever they wanted to put on each square. It turned out to be a VERY BIG SURPRISE for her. What a "Heritage" to leave for the new couple !!

Ceremony Decorations at The Church

Jonathan and Leigh Ann's wedding took place in the Independence Church of Christ building in Independence, VA. The church building was the perfect place because the outside and the inside of the building has rock walls. The pews are over 100 years old and they really added to the look of their wedding ceremony. It was very beautiful !!

The Hidden Away Bride

Leigh Ann's desire was for Jonathan not to see her before their wedding, so after we "finished up" decorating the reception hall and "getting all prettied up," for the wedding ceremony. All us ladies headed to the church building for all the many pictures that get taken before the wedding ceremony. I don't think Leigh Ann realized that she would be "trapped" in the bathroom waiting for the BIG moment to arrive. The longer she was in the bathroom, the hotter the temperature became. She only got released from her time of "bonding" with the bathroom, when we needed a picture of her. Boy, was she ready to get out of that bathroom and down the aisle to Jonathan when the time FINALLY came !!!! I don't think she was nervous at all !! I guess Jonathan was worth all that waiting !!!!

The Handsome Groom

Jonathan looks so handsome in his "Tux" My favorite picture of Jonathan is the one where he is outside with Shane and Jeff. Jonathan had been waiting ALL DAY to see Leigh Ann (she wouldn't let him see her) Every where we went that morning and afternoon Leigh Ann was there so he spent most of the day outside waiting and waiting and waiting !!!! I just love this picture because at this point he had had enough !!!
Jonathan , Leigh Ann was well worth the wait !!!! You were so blessed by God to have found such the "perfect" bride for you !!!

The Beautiful Bride

Leigh Ann looks so beautiful in these pictures.

Jonathan and Leigh Ann's Ceremony

Leigh Ann chose not to have Jonathan see her the day of their wedding so Jonathan looks VERY happy to see Leigh Ann coming to meet him. Jonathan was so touched by her entrance that he shed a couple of tears. How romantic !!!!
Leigh Ann looks so beautiful !!!
